    In order to reach more complex reservoir and increase ultimate recovery, engineers are searching for new technologies. One of these is intelligent completion which provides system monitoring, fluid production or injection control, and optimization. Operator can make decisions about managing completion based on real-time data coming from the downhole sensors. In addition, machine learning is becoming more popular in the oil industry. It finds application in automatization of processes and reducing time and error in decision making process. The aim of the thesis is to couple intelligent completion with machine learning (neural network) on the real example-gas well. The goal is to see if neural network can predict optimal interval control valve sizes for specific scenarios.Inženjeri kontinuirano istražuju nove tehnologije kako bi razradili kompleksnija ležiÅ”ta i povećali njihov ukupni iscrpak ležiÅ”ta. Jedan od načina je i inteligentno opremanje koje pruža mogućnost daljinskog nadgledanja i kontrole cjelokupnog procesa pridobivanja ugljikovodika, te optimizaciju cijelog procesa. U takvom sustavu operator donosi odluke na temelju podataka koji dolaze u stvarnom vremenu sa senzora postavljenih u buÅ”otinu. Nadalje, strojno učenje (engl. machine learning) postaje sve popularnije i u naftnoj industriji. Primjenjuje se u automatizaciji procesa kako bi se smanjilo vrijeme i greÅ”ke prilikom donoÅ”enja odluka. Cilj ovoga rada je spojiti inteligentno opremanje sa neuronskom mrežom na stvarnom primjeru plinske buÅ”otine. Uz to, cilj je vidjeti može li neuronska mreža predvidjeti optimalne veličine intervalnog kontrolnog ventila za različite slučajeve

    Utjecaj nanočestica SiO2 i TiO2 na svojstva isplaka na bazi vode

    Tijekom buÅ”enja konvencionalnih i nekonven- cionalnih ležiÅ”ta nafte i plina, inženjeri se svakod- nevno susreću s novim izazovima. Razvojem tehno- logije i istraživanjem novih pristupa u rjeÅ”avanju praktičnih problema pokuÅ”avaju se na Å”to isplativiji način eksploatirati pridobive rezerve ugljikovodika. Jedna od vrlo bitnih komponenti za uspjeÅ”nu izradu kanala buÅ”otine je svakako isplaka. Posljednjih godina, svojstva isplake pokuÅ”avaju se poboljÅ”ati dodavanjem nanočestica. Nanočestice su čestice veli- čine 1 do 100 nanometara (1Ā nm= 10-9Ā m). Dodavanjem nanočestica u isplaku uočena su poboljÅ”anja u: smanjenju filtracije, ojačanju stjenki kanala buÅ”otine i povećanju njegove stabilnosti, smanjenju torzije i natega, smanjenju mogućnosti prihvata i drugo. U radu su prikazani rezultati laboratorijskih ispi- tivanja utjecaja koncentracije komercijalno dostu- pnih nanočestica SiO2 i TiO2 na reoloÅ”ka svojstva, filtraciju i debljinu isplačnog obloga isplake na bazi vode. Ispitivanja su provedena dodavanjem različi- tih koncentracija nanočestica silicijevog dioksida (SiO2) (0,25%, 0,5%, 0,75% i 1,0% mas.) i titanovog dioksida (TiO2) (0,25%, 0,5%, 0,75% i 1,0% mas.) u osnovnu isplaku

    DEVELOPMENT OF TIGHT OIL RESOURCES IN USA: PROFITABILITY OF EXPLOITATION AND EFFECT OF MACROECONOMIC INDICATORS IN VOLATILE OIL PRICE ENVIRONMENT

    Ubrzani razvoj nekonvencionalnih ležiÅ”ta nafte u SAD-u započeo je 2010. godine, uz naredno petogodiÅ”nje razdoblje sa stabilnim i relativno visokim cijenama nafte na tržiÅ”tu. Tijekom toga relativno kratkoga perioda ekspanzije doÅ”lo je do znatnijih promjena u kapitalnim i operativnim troÅ”kovima zbog neprestanoga tehnoloÅ”kog napretka u buÅ”enju i opremanju, rastu pratećega naftno-servisnog sektora te povoljnijega financiranja projekata uz državnu politiku monetarnoga popuÅ”tanja. U radu su analizirani trendovi u troÅ”kovima razvoja nekonvencionalnih ležiÅ”ta te ovisnost kretanja cijene nafte (WTI ā€“ West Texas Intermediate) o intenzitetu broja aktivnih buÅ”otina i ukupnim proizvodnim kvotama s najvećih ležiÅ”ta nekonvencionalne nafte. Nakon svjetske financijske krize iz 2008./2009. ekonomski oporavak u SAD-u bio je donekle usporen, Å”to je uzrokovalo ekstremnu volatilnost na dioničkim i robnim tržiÅ”tima. U takvim nesigurnim uvjetima dnevna kretanja cijena nafte te vrijednosti dionica i roba pokazuju znatno reagiranje na periodične izvjeÅ”taje o promjenama glavnih makroekonomskih indikatora kao glavnih pokazatelja trenda ekonomskoga oporavka. Prije nego Å”to državne institucije objave takve izvjeÅ”taje, postoje i predviđanja vrijednosti indikatora temeljem anketa među ekonomskim analitičarima i očekivanim trendovima. Stoga, bilo kakvo pozitivno ili negativno iznenađenje prilikom objave stvarnih podataka u odnosu na predviđeno utječe na dnevno kretanje cijene nafte. U ovome radu statistički su analizi rani utjecaji takvih promjena u makroekonomskim indikatorima na dnevnu zavrÅ”nu cijenu nafte te utjecaj ostalih važnijih burzovnih indeksa u SAD-u. Analiza je pokazala da od makroekonomskih indikatora najveći utjecaj na dnevne pomake u cijeni nafte ima indeks industrijskih proizvođačkih cijena (PPI ā€“ Producer Price Index) kao temeljni indeks pokazatelja inflacije.Large scale development of tight oil resources in US started after 2010. with following five-year period of favorable steady increase in crude oil price. During this relatively short expansion cycle, operating and capital expenses changed drastically for main tight oil plays due to technological improvements in both well drilling and completion, expansion of service sector as well as loose government monetary policy which allowed favorable financing. This paper analyzed trends in costs during expansion period, as well as correlation of oil price to number of operating rigs and production quotas. After 2008/2009. world financial crisis economy recovery in US was somewhat sluggish and it caused extreme volatile environment in both equity and commodity markets. In such volatile environment intra-day crude oil prices, as well as other commodities and equities, show significant reaction to monthly published macroeconomic indicator reports, which give better overviews of trends in economic recovery. Prior to announcement, these reports always have forecasted value determined by consensus among market analysts. Therefore, any positive or negative surprise in real value tends to influence price of oil. This paper investigated influence of such macroeconomic reports to closing intraday oil price, as well as effect of other important daily market indices. Analysis showed that only Producer Price Index (PPI), among other indicators, has statistical significance of affecting intraday closing oil price

    In front of you are the Proceedings of the International Conference 17th Ružička days: ā€žToday Science ā€“ Tomorrow Industryā€œ that was held in Vukovar, Croatia at September 19-21, 2018. The main goal of this interdisciplinary conference is to promote excellence in science and engineering as well as application of up-to-date research results and technological achievements in industry. In its fifth issue (2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019) the Proceedings continues with publishing of quality scientific and professional full papers in sections Chemical Analysis and Synthesis (2), Chemical and Biochemical Engineering (3), Food Technology and Biotechnology (4), Medical Chemistry and Pharmacy (2), Environmental Protection (9) and Meeting of Young Chemists (4). All the papers were thoroughly reviewed from respectable evaluators, to whom we express our gratitude.     Dear colleagues, we are extremely honoured to present to you the Proceedings of the international conference 19th Ružička Days, which was successfully held on September 21ā€“23, 2022, in Vukovar, Croatia, in the hometown town of our famous Croatian scientist and first Nobel laureate, professor Leopold (Lavoslav) Ružička. The main goals of the Conference were to promote excellence, originality and innovation of interdisciplinary scientific research as well as the practical application of the obtained results through collaboration with industry, emphasizing thus the recognizable slogan of the Ružička Days conference: "Today Science ā€“ Tomorrow Industry". In addition, the Conference gave the opportunity for meetings, exchanging the ideas, opinions, experiences and cooperation among participants from different working surroundings. It is also important to point out that since 2008, within the international conference Ružička Days, Meeting of Young Chemists has also been held, where high school students, with the help of their mentors, present papers in the field of chemistry, with the aim to direct students and young people to the technical and natural sciences, especially chemistry. In its seventh issue (2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021) the Proceedings publishes scientific and professional full papers of high quality in the following sections: Chemical analysis and synthesis (10), Chemical and biochemical engineering (3), Food technology and biotechnology (4), Chemistry in agriculture and forestry (1), Environmental protection (9) and 8th Meeting of Young Chemists (3). Full-length papers were subjected to an international review procedure done by eminent experts from the corresponding fields, to whom we express our gratitude, but they were not subjected to linguistic proofreading. On behalf of the Scientific and Organizing Committee of the 19th Ružička Days we cordially thank all the authors, reviewers, participants, lecturers, organizers, especially the international organizers EuCheMS and EHEDG, auspices and sponsors, and all the others who, in any way, supported the Conference and contributed to the preparation of the Proceedings, especially to our highly skilled and committed associates, who have put a lot of effort in the preparation of these Proceedings.
